Questions about laptop not turning on
Is my laptop finished if it won't turn on?
Usually not. Most dead laptops have one failed part on the board, which we can replace for far less than a new motherboard.
Will I lose my files?
A board repair doesn't touch your files in most cases. Tell us if your data matters most and we will plan the repair around it.
What should I try first?
Check the socket, try a power reset (charger out, battery out if it clips out, hold power for 30 seconds) and charge it for 30 minutes. Our self-help page has the full steps.
